Hardly any SR was still in its original condition and the imagination when it comes to conversion is almost limitless.
An ingenious idea from 45 years ago - because simple is simple
Less is not possible. The SR has everything you need but no more. Well-dosed and skillfully designed. An icon, tool, vehicle, friend. Decelerator and traveling companion. Incredibly relaxing and without pressure to perform, but with power and pressure from low revs. Easy to understand and simple to maintain. For many, the entry into the world of motorcycles. Into their first personal freedom.
An unbelievable number of ideas for improvement and redesign have been born in the 45 years since the bike went on sale. Despite this, and perhaps precisely because of this, original examples in particular fascinate fans of the SR500.
Many of the German IG were at the start. Friends from Belgium and Denmark also made the trip. All in all, thousands of years of life with SR500 came together. Countless kilometers and experiences in the saddle of our favorite stew.
The IG Fulda organization team had done a great job. The grounds of the YMCA in Herbstein left nothing to be desired. That's how it should be and we're already looking forward to the next time.
