The 31st May orienteering trip
of the Hamburg XT500 Stammtisch.
This year Olli and Stephan took over the organization.
This campsite is located near Büchen at the gateway to the off-road paradise of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
A relaxed campsite where we have a whole meadow to ourselves. Also our first campsite with a golden washbasin!
In addition to the social get-together, the May orientation trip is essentially about two things:
1. to find the way using a road book.
2. to complete tricky tasks and games. For example, one task was to hit a target from a moving machine or - somewhat easier - to take a photo of yourself with a dairy and a particular stream and send the photos to the organizers.
The route was about 100km long, with a small 18km extra loop for the insatiable. After a long dry spell, the route proved to be quite sandy. One man's sorrow is another man's joy ...
There was one game at the start, three games on the way and a final one at the finish. There were also a few tasks in the road book, such as knowledge questions and taking photos. The Mai-O-Fahrt is never about speed.
We would like to thank all participants, all visitors and above all our hard-working and patient helpers for looking after the game stations!
We were delighted with the great turnout - thank you very much!
