Offroad Scramble 2025 - Steve delivers - on TT500

The 2025 motorsport season started for us on 5.04. 2025 as part of the Offroad Scramble in Steinitz near Salzwedel. Steve took part. So did his TT500.

The popular event, which will take place on eight dates on different routes in 2025, is an enduro series that offers exciting challenges for both beginners and advanced riders.

In a total of 10 different classes, the drivers battle their way through the rough terrain for two hours at a time, which mainly consists of natural obstacles, but also has the odd artificial obstacle in the form of concrete pipes, railroad sleepers, tires and the like. Our favorite class is of course class 10, the air-cooled vehicles. In addition to the Simson S51 in its wicked off-road trim and the original US DR350, the XT250 and TT500 were also on the starting line this time.

You start standing behind the motorcycle with the engine not running. This means bringing the warmed-up engine into the correct kick position before the start, holding the motorcycle by the rear mudguard and jumping on when the start signal is given, pedaling once and off into the scramble.

Steve Tollmann

Steve has been on two wheels since his earliest childhood. He was still small, as was his brother, but his father set it up - you know ... Riding a motorcycle and a love of technology was instilled at an early age.

That's how it is - that's how it has to be.

It was really worth it here. Steve is a top driver and has also become an engineer.

Everything done right.

With the TT500 in motorsport - totally normal for Steve. Between all the current machines, however, the technology from 1977 in the off-road scramble is sensational and worth cheering about.

Even though we had already run most of the course on foot the evening before, the route of some sections was a little unclear. So the first run was all about digesting the excitement of the start and taking a close look at the course and memorizing it. Thanks to the tracks from the previous run and the course builders' barriers, this worked without any problems.
Thanks to the large number of participants, the course became more and more challenging from lap to lap, which meant that the obstacles also changed slightly and there was no real routine or boredom.

The numerous spectators are constantly offered exciting action and real racing. The old iron cars are particularly popular and are cheered on and cheered on by many visitors.

You don't see the up to 50-year-old off-road machines in hard use that often here.

People and material are in good shape.

14 years age difference? Zero problemo.

After two hours, the chequered flag is waved and the exertions are over. With the exception of one historic GDR vehicle, all of the participants in class 10 crossed the finish line successfully.

After the award ceremony and a little refreshment, there is still enough time to watch the last run of the fastest classes before it's time to load up.

Our conclusion: Great show! A huge thank you to the organization

The off-road scramble is a great event, both for participants and spectators.

Admission is free and many parts of the route on the extensive grounds are clearly visible to all onlookers.

Technically, the series is one of the more demanding for classic cars. A good level of fitness and preparation of the vehicle for racing are recommended.

We are already looking forward to the next event on May 3 in Plate near Schwerin.

You can find an overview of the dates below.

All dates of the Offroadscramble 2025

We were at the Scrambler Fever in Poland last weekend and it was really good again! 2 days of rattling through the woods with about 70 other enduro enthusiasts. Due to the extreme drought, many forest roads were a sandy hell. Everyone cursed about it, many crashed but everyone had a big grin on their face afterwards. More about this event soon....
